July Monthly Highlights | #65
The Surrender Experiment, Strokes of Genius, Decompression Sessions
Hi friends!
This week, we’re back to our Monthly Highlights where I share what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to in July.
I’ll be taking some time to rest and replenish in August, so please expect a break in our normal weekly programming.
Alright, onto the mix.
ONE THING I'M READING
📚 The Surrender Experiment: My Journey into Life's Perfection by Michael A. Singer
I often think about how to live life more intentionally, and this usually leads me towards ideas of focus, minimizing choice, and learning to say no. The Surrender Experiment challenged my perspective and opened up my mind—and my heart—in surprising ways.
Singer’s memoir recounts a truly amazing life, from accidentally starting a spiritual community in the woods of Florida to heading up a multi-million dollar software company to an indictment from the U.S. Department of Justice. Along the way, he consistently practiced the art of letting go and surrendering to the flow. An incredible read.
ONE THING I'M WATCHING
🎬 Strokes of Genius
As a lifelong lover of tennis, I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of this documentary until a couple of weeks ago!
The film covers one of the greatest tennis matches of all time, the 2008 Wimbledon Men’s Final between Federer and Nadal.
It’s an intimate look at two very different players, Federer with his effortless artistry and Nadal with his unrelenting grit. But under the surface, you see how similar these two champions really are.
ONE THING I'M LISTENING TO
🎶 Decompression Session on BBC Radio 1
My friend and teacher Stuart Sandeman (@breathpod) has teamed up with BBC Radio 1 to launch an incredible new show blending music, breathwork, and tools to keep you grounded and calm.
Each 60-minute set is curated to perfection. These sessions have been perfect to help me relax into the summer mood, recharge my battery, and shift my mindset when I’m feeling off.
(Note: international listeners may need a BBC account to listen, but signing up is free.)
