The main reason is that the work I want to do with people takes TIME. Shifting behaviors, creating new patterns, and integrating new ways of working + being into your life can't be done in a 75-minute workshop...
...and B2B clients always just want the quickest, fastest, one-off, short session because everyone is so busy.
I tried to sell a lot of companies on more transformational programs but it's always swimming upstream.
Whereas individuals who are really ready to invest in themselves are willing to put in the work to make change, no matter if it's 7 weeks or 7 months.
Excited for you and this new direction! I’m also curious about the shift to Kit. It seems quite a few folks are moving away from Substack, and I’m wondering why you’ve made the call
1 - with kit, you can segment your audience. so people that want my regular mailings but aren't interested in my business offerings (like the inner operating system) can stay updated without receiving more direct marketing related to whatever it is we're selling
2 - with kit, you can create more automated sequences, which is very helpful for someone who might watch a youtube video of ours, then download a freebie we've offered, and then joins the newsletter but needs to be introduced to who I am, what i do, etc. - this type of communication doesn't make sense to go out to a general audience, just someone new to the newsletter, and kit makes that much easier to do
2 secondary reasons
1 - substack feels more and more to me like a platform for writers, and a place for people who want to monetize their writing and content - this isn't my aim. i don't want to have a paid newsletter or to monetize my content.
2 - substack also seems to be becoming another social media network (with the notes feed being very prominent). the last thing i want in my life is another newsfeed, and i find the platform is really going in that direction so no thank you :)
It has been very interesting to follow along your reflections and pivots along the years. Why the focus on B2C now more than on B2B?
Thanks Sofia!

I see your point on wanting to make long, lasting meaningful transformation. Thank you for the in the depth reply!
