Thanks Matt! To be clear, we left Mailchimp for Substack as Mailchimp made publishing kinda annoying and that little friction stopped me from writing as often as I would have liked.
Substack layout a great improvement, love you guys are slowly working on improvements and open to trying new tools and platforms. I currently use Hubspot, and now you have me thinking, great job Connor!
Thanks Trevor! Really appreciate you continuing to read the newsletter and for being engaged.
I think "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a decent motto for most things related to online tools, but I have to say, Mailchimp felt a bit too broken for me so it was time to hit reset.
love the direction this is going and the visual elements. interested to hear how the shift into two distinct sites plays out. from the outside, it makes a ton of sense to separate those worlds but imagine there are trade-offs and its a lot of work to actually do!
have you or Claire written anywhere about what it's been like to work with your partner on a small business? having had small business co-founders (who weren't life partners) i'd be fascinated to read about that journey
Yes, it's been a long and drawn out process to get here. The initial instinct was, "we should have a more professional looking brand for our corporate clients that will feel stronger and more legitimate. Forgewell sounds (to me) like a more serious company that I would hire for training, consulting, etc.
On the other hand, I've been nursing this One Percent Wisdom thing as a newsletter for about 2 years. I like the name (not *in love* to be honest) and it feels like it's more consumer-facing, more like something an individual would want to read.
One of the real challenges I'm trying to figure out is the piece of co-authorship and co-ownership with my wife, Claire, who is my co-founder in the business and also starting to write.
It's kinda hard to make that clear with the site and with the newsletter, and I sometimes worry that people are more interested in following a person (i.e. Sam Sager) than a brand (i.e. One Percent Wisdom) so we are figuring out how Claire & Connor show up within One Percent Wisdom so it makes sense to our audience and still feels connected.
I wonder if you have any ideas of couples that have done something similar, even in a totally different space, as I'm always looking for examples to inspire..?
Great to hear your updates 😊
Thanks Sally, appreciate you reading! Miss ya
Challenge accepted. Big fan of your work, Connor and Claire. Thank you!
Appreciate you big dog!
Love this mate, super interested in your move to Mailchimp.
Has confirmed a few of my own concerns with using it for writer-centric newsletters.
Curious to see how you enjoy the transition and love the two channeled-approach to your business you are taking.

We shall see how this goes!
Love the new look! 🙌🙌
Thanks man, inspired by Unplugging!
Welcome to substack Connor & Claire! Excited to see this next evolution of One Percent Wisdom! 🤩 Congrats!
Happy to be here, amongst such esteemed colleagues! ;)

have you heard of www.anotherescape.com? I believe they stopped the project this year but it was run by a couple and super well done.
